FONOTEC INC. (Delaware) · Fonotec UK Ltd

The record label, rebuilt as infrastructure.

Uber never bought a taxi. Airbnb never built a hotel. FonoTec doesn't sign artists — it plugs them in. One upload puts a track in front of owned stations, global enterprise clients and a fan-facing storefront, then splits the money automatically. The artist keeps 85%. They keep their masters. They keep their fans.

01 — The problem

Everyone gets paid except the person who made the record.

Recorded music just passed $31.7 billion, its eleventh straight year of growth. The platforms, the labels, the distributors and the collecting societies all take their cut on the way through. The artist is last in the queue and takes the smallest share of all. Three structural failures, all fixable, none being fixed by the incumbents.

FAILURE 01

Micro-royalties

Mainstream streaming pays fractions of a cent per play, pooled pro-rata so the top of the chart absorbs the tail. An artist can be widely heard and still earn nothing resembling a wage.

FAILURE 02

Ownership as the price of entry

The traditional deal still trades masters and publishing for a marketing budget. Artists sign away the asset at exactly the moment it is worth the least — and rarely get it back.

FAILURE 03

Two industries that never meet

Global brands spend enormous sums on licensed background audio. Emerging artists spend nothing getting heard. There is no clearing house between them — so brands buy stock beds and artists stay invisible.

I had 1.2 million streams last year. It covered about a month's rent. Nobody has ever been able to explain to me why that's supposed to be normal.

Illustrative artist voices — composites written to represent the audience FonoTec is built for. Not quotations from real individuals. Replace with real testimonials as they come in.

The gap is the business. FonoTec is the layer that sits between an artist's hard drive and a brand's global estate — matching, licensing, reporting and paying, automatically, at a take rate the artist can live with.

02 — The system

One platform. Four layers.

Each layer is a business on its own. Together they compound: creators feed the engine, the engine feeds the stations, the stations prove the model to enterprise, and enterprise revenue flows back to creators — which attracts more creators.

01

FonoTec — The Label

A creator-owned storefront and membership platform. Artists build a profile, sell tracks, releases, merch and tickets direct to fans, run paid membership tiers, and message their audience without an algorithm in the way. A direct-to-fan storefront with modern creator-economy mechanics — and none of the ownership tax.

02

The Engine

The matching machine. Every track submitted is fingerprinted, tagged for tempo, energy, texture, mood and clearance status, then matched against live station briefs — a hospital recovery ward, a motorway drive mode, a store opening, an after-hours set. When it plays, the split runs automatically and the artist sees it the same day.

03

Owned Stations

FonoTec operates its own branded stations as proof and as margin. ROXOFF is a licensed 18+ after-hours music service for the nightlife audience. NHSFM is a clinical-environment music service built for waiting rooms, theatres and recovery wards. Owned stations are where the engine runs at full load before an enterprise client ever sees it.

04

Enterprise Stations

The same engine, white-labelled for global brands. A car maker gets drive-mode soundtracks tuned to the road. A hotel group gets a sound identity that runs from arrival to guest room. A restaurant chain gets a launch-night talent programme. Annual licence, multi-market, fully cleared — and every play pays a named artist.

03 — The engine

Upload once. Earn everywhere.

The machine in the middle is the whole company. It is the reason an unsigned producer in Leeds can be paid by a hotel group in Palma without either of them hiring a lawyer.

STEP 01

Submit

The artist uploads, sets availability by category, and confirms they control the rights. Two minutes, no gatekeeper, no A&R queue.

STEP 02

Match

Audio analysis plus human A&R tag the track against live station briefs: tempo band, energy curve, vocal presence, brand-safety tier, territory.

STEP 03

Place

The track enters rotation across owned stations and enterprise clients. Placement is visible to the artist — which station, which zone, how often.

STEP 04

Split

Revenue is attributed per play and per sale, split 85/15 in the artist's favour, and paid monthly with a line-by-line statement.

04 — The economics

85% to the artist.
The math was always wrong.

A platform that owns no masters and signs no artists has no claim on the majority of the revenue. The whole thesis, in one sentence

This is not charity and it is not a marketing line — it is the only defensible number. Our 15% buys engineering, clearance, enterprise sales and payment infrastructure. That's it. No advance to recoup, no packaging deduction, no distribution fee on top.

15%

Our take rate

Flat, published, identical for a bedroom producer and a chart act. No recoupment, no packaging deduction, no reserve against returns, no distribution fee on top.

Income lines per upload

Direct sales, fan memberships, station rotation and enterprise licensing — from a single submission, without a separate deal for each.

100%

Rights retained

FonoTec takes a non-exclusive, revocable licence to place a track. Masters, publishing and neighbouring rights never move. An artist can walk with their catalogue and their fan list.

05 — Proof

We run our own stations before we sell yours.

Most audio-branding vendors have never operated a station. FonoTec runs two, in categories at opposite ends of the spectrum — one loud and nocturnal, one clinical and quiet — because a system that survives both will survive anything a brand asks of it.

ROXOFF
Licensed 18+ after-hours music · sold by the session

A subscription and session-based music service for the late-night and club audience. Fully licensed, uninterrupted, curated by producers from inside the scene. Proves the session-pricing model, the creator-supply loop, and the appetite of an audience the mainstream under-serves.

OWNED STATION 02 · PILOT
NHSFM
Music for clinical environments · working name

Zone-aware, volume-governed music for waiting areas, treatment rooms, theatres and recovery wards, commissioned to a clinical brief rather than pulled from a chart. Proves the enterprise model in the hardest possible room: one where the wrong track is a safety issue.

06 — Enterprise

Your brand already has a sound. Right now, someone else picked it.

Most global brands are running a generic licensed playlist that a competitor two doors down is also running. FonoTec builds you a station: your own channels, your own commissioned catalogue, your own emerging-artist programme — cleared for every territory you operate in, and audited per play.

07 — Global launch
DJ AWARDS

October 2027. Every nominee gets in free.

FonoTec launches globally as headline sponsor of the DJ Awards — founded in Ibiza in 1998, the world's longest-running independent dance music awards, and acquired in 2024 by FonoTec's founder. That ownership is the single most important asset in this plan: it is a permanent, non-replicable channel to the exact artists the platform is built for, and a launch stage no competitor can rent.

The 26th edition is the biggest night the awards have ever staged — and it is our launch party.

The awards hold a three-year residency at Amnesia Ibiza. In 2027 the gala dinner and ceremony stay on the Terrace, but the after-party moves into the Main Room, doubling capacity and turning the night into a full public festival, with Secret Cinema producing the show and the ceremony broadcast live on YouTube. Around it sits a season of events — the Grand Jury at Sónar in Barcelona, a voting-open yacht party in Ibiza, and a London closing party.

FonoTec is the headline sponsor of all of it. Every nominee across all twenty-one categories receives twelve months of full platform access at no cost, and keeps 100% of everything they earn on FonoTec during that period. We take nothing. The acquisition cost is the sponsorship, and the artists arrive already credible.

12

Months free, every nominee

Storefront, memberships, submissions, station rotation and enterprise briefs — everything a paying creator gets, with nothing to cancel at the end.

100%

Revenue, kept

Our take rate for nominees is zero for the full twelve months. Whatever their fans and our licensees pay, they keep.

5

Territories to follow

The awards' own global rollout — Miami, São Paulo, the Legends Tour, Riyadh and Hong Kong — becomes FonoTec's artist-acquisition map through 2030.

DJ Awards figures are as published by DJ Awards SL. The 25th anniversary edition takes place at Amnesia Ibiza on 7 October 2026; the FonoTec global launch is planned for the 26th edition in October 2027.

We don't sign artists. We plug them in.

Four ways in: license a station for your brand, put your catalogue on the platform, back the company building it, or just watch it get built.
